Artist's Description

This drawing was done for a watercolor painting that I did of a Belted Kingfisher. The painting has been sold, but this will illustrate some of the process that happens in my creation of my bird portraits. Because most of my bird subjects are done life size, I like to work out all of corrections and editing in pencil so that whenI start to paint, I can concentrate on the color of the bird.
