A gorgeous, young female in a pensive pose in 1920s Connecticut. Photograph from the original glass negative, circa 1920s. All photographs offered in this 1920s collection were taken by a rather obscure, but accomplished commercial photographer by the name of John A. Swanson, who lived and worked in Manchester, Connecticut in the 1920s. Swanson’s photographic studio was known as “The New Studio,” and is referenced in U.S. Census Records as well as Hartford, Connecticut Directories. Swanson lived at 9 Johnson Terrace, Manchester, Connecticut, only a couple of blocks from his photographic studio. His house is still standing today.
