...this is National Geographic level, Bill!

Bill Owen replied:

Thank you for the high praise, Joy! I appreciate it very much! :)

This is so cool, Bill! We forget about all those communication cable and such going on in the deep. But this is so eerily beautiful...so quiet...really, a sight few of us would ever see! f/v

Bill Owen replied:

Thank you so much, Joy. And yes, this section of the bay is, or was, very peaceful. Just deep enough--maybe 20 feet--to feel a gentle sway from the waves above. I miss it.

Bill, I can see why this was a prize winner! Wonderfully captured - especially the way that the cable seems to disappear into infinity! voted

Bill Owen replied:

Thanks very much Cheri! I admit to getting a bit choked up working on it today. It reminds me of the ten wonderful years I spent in Hawaii. Thanks again!

Very nice bath towel. It is very large and thick. The picture is so pretty.

Very unique piece of art. Displayed in my living room and admired. Will highly recommend.

Daughter-in-law has the shower curtain, which she loves, and thought I'd get the hand towel to go with it. Didn't give it to her. The photo shows the entire towel, not what it looks like folded. When folded you only see some of the "splatters" on the bottom. If you turn it around the zebra's head is upside down. The way it's currently being produced, it isn't a suitable image for a hand towel.

I love the design but wanted to buy a towel that actually gets used - high polyester content makes that dubious. also: I was hoping to support American Artists as well as manufacturers - this sentiment got killed by giant "MADE IN CHINA" tag. Very sad.

Artist's Description

I took this photo with a Nikonos II camera using ASA 400 black and white film in 1973. The photo took first place in the contest offered by the International Film Festival that year. Thanks to Janet, the diver.
