Artwork was a gift. So grateful it arrived in time for Christmas. The piece was given to a loyal Eddie Van Halen fan. There were quite a few finishes/sizes to choose from. I purchased the wood finish because of the rustic look. The photo transferred perfectly. What a honor to proudly display this piece. Will forever be reminded what EVH contributed to rock and how grateful we are to him for sharing his love of music with us. 🤘

A landscape from the Pacific Northwest of soft blue mountains with a foreground of moving water. The medium is wax on board. Encaustic is a Greek word. it means to "burn in" or process with heat. Encaustic art is an ancient form of specialty painting rendered with molten beeswax, resin, and color pigment. It is applied with various tools in a controlled heated application. The famous Egyptian Fayum funeral portrait, End of the Reign of Trajan 98-117 A.D. is made of wax on wood, a testament to the durability of encaustic painting.

The classic beauty of Dutch and Flemmish paintings has always motivated me to achieve a similar style in my own work. The glowing light of an interior by Vermeer and the mystery of Rembrandts portraits never fails to move me along my own creative path.
