Description
Bernese Alps, Switzerland
A great day hike in Switzerland is to the top of Schafberg Peak in the Bernese Alps. With an elevation of 2239 meters, the peak hike doesn't really have a set trail, so climbers merely angle toward the summit any way they can. The last portion doesn't require technical skills or climbing gear, but folks afraid of heights shouldn't attempt it. It's a mad scramble at the last. Hit the slopes early and you'll be rewarded with a stunning sunrise.

Beautiful composition, Potatoes! ... the shadows/ light highlighting the green area is grand ; mountaintops in the background lovely .. deceptively soft :))

Thank you so much, Connie. :) I hate getting up early, but I'll do it for morning light when we're hiking. Few mountain ranges are as stunningly unreal as the Swiss Alps, and these guys are just babies.
