There are many photographs of Butchart Gardens but it is quite difficult to find paintings so I was thrilled to find this beautiful painting! It's even more beautiful in person!

Love the print! Go to Avalon every year and always get a picture in front of these boats. Nice to have it hung in the living room now!
Chris and I went here one weekend to visit a friend's house. We asked about the staircase and he said they hired a carpenter and only told the man, "we need a staircase leading down to the water that isn't straight down." Our friend said the guy just kept building and turning and building some more until he reached the water. When I saw it, I sketched it immediately. I didn't paint it until years later when I found the sketch, half faded and falling apart. Glad I found it in time.
