... What could be happier
than a big field of sunflowers?
Captured on one of the prettiest
days of the year, in full summer,
when the blooms are at their largest
and best, presented in a dreamy
moody abstract dreamscape.
Big yellow and orange faces dance
in the light breeze, a lovely blue sky
overhead. The light clouds still have
a tinge of color from the sunrise
an hour earlier, a bit of gold to match
the flower faces. The stalks were over
six feet tall, requiring a big ladder
to stand on with tripod and camera
to capture the full beauty of the field.
