The beautiful, historic city of Venice delivers the visitor amazing sights around every turn. The canals are the life giving arteries of this Renaissance period metropolis, everything the food, the drink, the goods sold in the many shops and even people arrive by boat. Boats of all shapes and sizes traverse these aquatic highways while people already on the island navigate by narrow alleys and miniature bridges across the water.
Sun filters through the narrow gaps between the buildings casting light on parts of the architecture imbuing it with colour while other parts remain in colour draining shade, its this contrast that gives so much vitality to scenes such as shown here.
A few small boats moored to buildings some in sun, some in shade, the brilliant pink of the old bridge draws the viewers eye into the scene and provides an anchor point to come back to once you have visually explored the rest of the image.
