About Laura Bates
I am fascinated by color. Its beauty is inspirational and its influence on dimensional space is intriguing. My work reflects my passion for capturing the beauty of color wherever I see it and allowing it to sculpt the spatial plane of my canvas. I studied art from a very young age at the Art Workshop of Winter Park, Florida. After receiving a degree in graphic design from UCF, I worked for the ABC affiliate, WFTV in Orlando, as a graphic designer. My work in television also included illustration, set design, and courtroom sketching. After leaving WFTV, I did freelance work in graphics, painting and sculpture of architectural artifacts.
