Wow! I must have been awfully lonely when I made that last comment several years ago. I see that in the last 6 years 250 people have seen this work, so let me make a more welcoming statement. I positioned the calmest emotion in the center of the painting because it is from this calm center that all other emotions and reality can best be experienced and understood. From here you can exit the ride and walk about the universe. Come back and take another ride at any time, like playing a favorite old record album. The universe is an amazing place. I have some more great surreal art masterpieces coming along in the years ahead. Enjoy your travels and thanks for taking a look at my surrealism artwork.

I am alone, wandering this lonely planet. I see people wandering about, trying to get connected to something, anything. I wander. I am here. No one sees me. I leave my trail of artwork. No one sees it. No one knows it is here. In a few years I will be gone. In a few more everyone will be gone. Still, I see and observe, knowing.

This was a gift to a person who is restoring a prairie. This year she has 14 herons gathering on the banks of the Little Sioux River. The tote bag was well received.

Artist's Description

Calypso is a carnival ride where normal riders have been replaced by giant heads, each signifying a different emotional state. Remember the old song by "The Band", "Life is a Carnival". Some times we would say 'How true'. And, such is the meaning of this painting.
