Artist's Description
I find this scene very unique, & have never seen anything like it anywhere else... I think its amazing that a lone cottonwood tree found home in a natural 'pot' in the enormous sandstone formation, relying only on occasional rain water pooling in the hole & some accumulated sand/dirt. In the summer the heat is often above 100F & in winter the freeze is often below 0! But the tree lives on, fighting to see another beautiful sunrise.
