Description
Swamp Cypress Reflections BW - This is the iconic swamp scene of the cypress tree trunks with a few braches of their feather like leave in black and white. The cypress trees are quite hardy and Caddo Lake has the world largest collection of bald cypress trees in the world. The bald cypress tree got their name because they are known to drop their leaves early in the season, which is how they got the name bald cypress. You will see cypress trees with hanging spanish moss and their branches have these leaves which are feathery and in fall they turn to a cinamon color to a firey orange red before they fall off. Caddo Lake State Park is a state park located in the piney woods of eastern Texas and operated as a wildlife management area, Caddo Lake is the lake that the state park encompasses, and is one of only a handful of natural lakes in Texas. The closest town is Karnack. I guess the best way to get around is to rent a canoe so you can leisurely float through out all the towering cypress trees in the bayou. It was an awesome site not just the swamp but the park itself has many trails and towering pine tree giving it a mystical feel.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS!
