I had held off purchasing any Super Bowl LVIII collectibles or memorabilia until I found something that I thought was just “awesome”. When I saw this SI Cover, I knew I had to have it. Honestly it’s one of the best photos I’ve ever seen. Along with the captions it captures what Super Bowl LVIII was all about. Your Photog was in the right place at the right time and did a great job of capturing what Chiefs fans all across the country felt at that moment. As you can see I had the perfect place for it, it makes this wall complete and up to date.
Artist's Description
Sweet Eggbert was sold to us as a Buff Wyandot. However, her development followed her genetic code rather than the store's label. Everyone who meets our chickens favors Eggbert. She is an adventurer and seems to be maturing the fastest but on a smaller scale. Some of her feathers glow in the sunlight and sparkle with blues and greens.
About Kathryn Launey
Artist Statement Kathryn Launey My lifelong joy in creating art is a conversation. Although I usually begin with an idea, a plan, or a theme, the artistic process evolves. Each stage of a painting, drawing, or photographic image evokes the next application of media. This free association between me and the art I am creating results in works that are both reflective and spontaneous. In order to be open to this type of creative process, my art is almost always a mixture of media. Currently, I rely on photography, watercolor, or acrylic paint as the primary foundation. After the process starts, other media are added to achieve special effects. The reflective nature of my approach ties my art closely to my interests and beliefs....

Thank you for your comment. I was in the middle of creating a painting based on this photo when Eggbert was killed by some animal. She was recovering from an earlier assault by a neighbor's dog, so she had no feathers to protect her in the area of attack. As my oldest granddaughter would say, I miss her all the time.

A fine specimen. I love the clarity and the detail of the varied textures. And she's an all-around cute bird.
