This painting depicts the "sacred" moment in rowing when the team is so unified and powerful in their movement that the boat seems to rise out of the water. It is called the swing. The painting hangs in the entrance way of the McConnell Family Boathouse at the University of Notre Dame to welcome members of the Fighting Irish crew team.
