Artist's Description
Beautiful view on the three famous swiss mountain peaks called Eiger Mönch and Jungfrau close to the village of Grindelwald. The Eiger has an altitude of 3,967 meters above sea level and his "North Wall" has a rather fearsome reputation. The three mountains tower over nearby Grindelwald, a popular hiking and skiing destination in the Swiss Bernese Alps. About Sabina Von Arx

From Basel, Switzerland. In my artwork (watercolor and mixed media) I do focus on the extraordinary light and atmosphere that we find in nature, landscapes and alpine scenes. To capture this mood in my pictures is my challenge and passion. My Watercolor Paintings are done primarily in negative painting technique that means carving out shapes from the underpainting by painting around objects instead of painting them directly. I love to paint in a loose, expressionist, impressionist or semi-abstract way. I never try to copy the perfectionism of nature but prefer to stick to a loose approach with creative colors, unusual compositions and with passionate brushstrokes.

Sabina, I want to escape to this place in the Wintery mountains! Looks warm and inviting enveloped in the cold of the snow! Following your watercolors! ~Anne
Sabina Von Arx replied:
Dear Anne, many thanks for your Feedback. The "Eiger Nordwand" is one of the most dangerous mountains in the world and very often a never come back trap for ambitious mountaineers....so it is better to stay in this cosy, warm and save little barn. Greetings from Switzerland
