Description
On April 5, 1923, a frame school house located nearby was destroyed by a storm. Within two weeks the DE. General Assembly appropriated $5,000 to build a new one. Although the funds were inadequate, PS Dupont provided the additional funding to complete the project. On Oct. 27, 1923 the state of DE. purchased three acres of land and the current building was constructed. In 1949 the school was closed and the district consolidated. In 1950 the Taylors Bridge Community center purchased the schools for one dollar and transformed it into a community center.
