Termite mound, or termitary, made by an unidentified species of this insect. Some species' mounds can reach several metres in height and contain millions of individuals. The mound is built from soil stuck together with saliva. It contains numerous tunnels and chambers. Termites feed on wood and other plant matter containing cellulose. Photographed in Tira Dentes, Brazil.
