The settlement of Kilmuir stands on the western shore of the Trotternish peninsula in the north of the Isle of Skye. One of the highlights at Kilmuir is a museum of island life, which has preserved several traditional thatched cottages as well as agricultural implements and objects from everyday life. I was walking past this traditional cottage when I was struck by the colourful wagon in the foreground and the wonderful views to the Isle of Lewis in the distance.
