As I was reading through Ephesians chapter 6, the importance of Christians developing a soldier mentality, in regard to their faith, got hold of me. Put on the whole armour of God, is not just quaint spiritual language. Its - you better do this, your life depends on it! I read on, And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests� and always keep on praying for all Gods people. - What a challenge! Our King has already won the victory. He rules with God the Father and is Lord over all. But in the here and now, we are called to be led by Him, extending His Kingdom (revealing His character and His wisdom) in and through our everyday lives and vocations - which means the adventure of a lifelong battle. I offer this painting to you in the hope that you will be encouraged to stand your ground, clothed with Christ and to pray in every situation.

Most of my paintings are executed in oils, often over the top of other media. Many are visual stories that contain partially hidden words or imagery where the homespun and the familiar become symbols of timeless truth. My hope is that you will discover additional levels of meaning as you look at the paintings closely.
