This is a beautiful piece of art Jani, I knew your talent for watercolor but didn't realize how beautifully you work in pastel medium....it's pretty awesome, lfp :o)

Jani Freimann replied:

Thank you, Melissa. I've painted with pastels longer than with watercolor. Before all that I worked almost exclusively with graphite. Now, I am practicing with water based oils. Later, I'd like to work with encaustics and perhaps someday sculpture. My goal is to be a well rounded artist that can work in any media.

Amazing !! I love love her face !! I can feel her emotion . That is true talent !! I am in awe .. Voted & fav.

Jani Freimann replied:

Amazing skin tone in this, and love the overall color. Thanks for the explanation of how it was accomplished! Her expression is delightful as well.

Jani Freimann replied:

There will be a time for the originals...I have had 3 residences in the past 6 months as far as 10 thousand miles from each other. Need to settle down for a while. You can send me your price offer, will put it on my list.

Jani Freimann replied:

Will do. :-)

Hi Jani, just purchased greeting card of this art work as I promised, since you did not get into the contest in time and I am sure, this one would make one of the first 3 places.

Jani Freimann replied:

Thank you, Shan. I enjoyed painting her. I was so hoping you would find it worthy of purchasing a print or even the original. :-) Thank you for the purchase. I very much appreciate it. :-)

Such a beautiful work.Very sad you could not post it in time.Would have been a winner.

Jani Freimann replied:

Thank you, Asha, for your vote of confidence. I was bummed, but was completely at the mercy of my unusual unforseen circumstances.

Wow this is amazing!!like Carl said it is indeed a shame that you couldn't post it due to lack of internet access(totally get that spent the last 3 years in a remote part of India with no net connectivity) .Would have got my vote!!Love those skin tones:)

Jani Freimann replied:

Thank you, Greeshma. The skin tones in the face were more difficult than in her body. Mostly because a miss on the coloring, highlights and shadows would alter her likeness. The body was much more forgiving. Although I covered the background color completely, the toned paper helped a lot.

Jani Freimann replied:

To clarify, I only covered the background color where the girl is.
