Thanks a lot, Claudia for your nice comment! As a native romanian you should go there once in your life, Romania has changed completely since its entry in the EU, in certain aspects it got very modern!

I never visited this famous Jolly Cemetery from my home country! Great shot, Christian! Thank you for following! l/f :)

Amazing

Absolutely beautiful!

This particular scene is from a place very near my father’s house and the memorial bench for his late wife. He himself has taken many similar photographs of this beautiful spot. I love this piece. Having it printed on the wood gave this piece depth and character, like a painting. A little clarity was obscured by the wood grain but it’s beautiful.

I have always loved mermaids and artist Skoosh’s friendship series was one I immediately fell in love with. Treated myself to one on wood and I absolutely love it. The wood is substantial and works wonderfully with the colors on the print. Eventually it will go up on the wall of my craft room/office but for now it’s right next to my laptop where i can see it as I get through my day. Can’t wait for the rest of the series to be available.

Artist's Description

This foto shows the famous cemetery of Sapanta in Romania, located in the south-east of Europe. A local artist painted pictures and symbols on each decendent`s cross mainly demonstrating the deads`former profession. In addition funny and particularly ironic rhymes and lyrics give an impression of people, who once lived in Sapanta.

About Christian Hallweger

At the end of my studies for history of arts and archeology I published a guidebook of Scotland in 1994, doing most of the 140 published fotos on my own. Some other photograph jobs followed such as fotos of the European Alpes. Meanwhile I have visited all European countries (latestly the eastern european, formerly socialistic countries), have been to Asia five times, to Africa five times and have been to 20 of the American states. One journey led me to Australia, that I crossed on a distance of more than 11000 Kilometers. Nevertheless there are still so many beautiful and interesting destinations on this planet, that life is definitely too short to...
