What a striking image in black and white! The image tells a story, and the clarity is such that one feels as if it would be possible to step into the past!

F/L Robert this is a wonderfully outstanding nostalgic capture of this train. Your choice of B&W is perfect for bring out the details nicely. I like the way you were able to keep out any modern elements. I once posted a photo of and engine and the engineer who use to run the engine sent me a comment! I can be a small world.

I am very happy with my bag and take it with me when I go shopping. It holds a number of articles and attracts attention because of the dogs' photo on both sides.

Gorgeous art on a practical bag. Thank you, my talented friend, for helping me add a bit of magic to the everyday! Just the grownup upgrade I needed from hauling my stuff around in my boring grocery tote bags.

Amitors you need to tote everywhere you go with Pen Sherwood's artwork and Diana Kisselburg's message.

Artist's Description

In truth, there is no brakeman - The job went away with the addition of air-brakes. The name still lingers but with a nebulous job description that may include throwing hand switches in the yard, assistant to the conductor, hand signals to the engineer, passenger duties etc. Pre-1920s he road in the caboose and applied the brakes when signaled. Individual brakes for each car may have been required so it was common for him to walk atop the cars climbing car ladders. He was generally the one who threw the "hobo" off the train. In this image he is signaling to the engineer to stop and go for disembarking the passengers and disconnecting the cars to prepare for a refuel and turnaround.
