Description
A friend of mine has a grandmother who is full-blooded Cherokee. This is what got me interested in Native American Art. After doing one (from an artbook where you may copy them), I just kept painting them. The Burden Basket is the first basket you use for the first chore of the day - usually getting water or gathering food. A great deal of blending is involved using a mop brush. This is a painting done while recooperating from a long illness. By the way, her grandmother is a healer which came in handy. My friend was visiting her and was stung by a bee and forgot her medicine pen. She would die within the hour. Her grandmother just put a poltice on it, and my friend was fine. Not THAT is inspiration! The original is for sale, or I would take commissions to copy it for you, in colors you prefer if they are different.
