This is a great image.

Hello John, thank you so much for the revisit, I remember this photo as if it were just yesterday, I was 10 years old or so, and my mother had friends and we were invited up to the balcony to view the parade. The parades use to roll through the french quarter and that was discontinued because of narrow streets, congestion, and safety concerns. I remember this was a Kodak camera and film then was a spool you loaded in the camera. The view is looking towards Canal street on Royal St. and St. Peter Street. Thank you for the V/F, I appreciate that Michael

Hand Towel Reviews (76)

Average Rating (4.82 Stars):

I am familiar with this talented artist, Lenore Senior, and appreciate her work. The towels were much better quality than I expected. So soft and such a beautiful replication of Lenore's artwork. They look great with the wall art I already have in place. I appreciate all the different product forms that FineArtAmerica offers. I have ordered Lenore's work on greeting cards, too, and they were beautiful and of a very good quality. Thank you!

Artist's Description

Vintage Original Photo I took when I was 10 years old. Everyone loves to go to a parade. The uniqueness of a parade here in New Orleans, Louisiana is each organization theme changes each year. The floats are designed by float builders. Each parade may have up to 25 plus floats and more with marching bands inbetween them. Each float is designed and built around the theme of the parade for that year. And each float is a page turned through a story, or an event. Standing on a balcony at Royal Street and St. Peter. The Mardi Gras parades no longer parade through the French Quarter, an ordinance was passed discontinuing the krewes from using the streets due to the narrow streets and 1st responders needing to get to emergencys C 1960
