I came into the world in Haverhill, MA in 1940 a year before our country entered WW2. We lived in Manchester By The Sea until 1946 when we moved to West Newbury into a house built in 1795 which had a coal fired furnace and a hand pump for water in the kitchen sink. I went to Central School which had all 12 grades until 1954 when the high school aged kids were bused to Newburyport High where we graduated in 1958. I wasn't much of a student and joined the Air Force in 1959 where they sent me to Photography school in Denver, CO. I liked it and graduated 1st in my class which gave me a choice of over seas assignments putting me in Germany at a base photo lab for the next 3 years. Not a bad life Uncle Sam provided.
