Amazing

Absolutely beautiful!

This particular scene is from a place very near my father’s house and the memorial bench for his late wife. He himself has taken many similar photographs of this beautiful spot. I love this piece. Having it printed on the wood gave this piece depth and character, like a painting. A little clarity was obscured by the wood grain but it’s beautiful.

I have always loved mermaids and artist Skoosh’s friendship series was one I immediately fell in love with. Treated myself to one on wood and I absolutely love it. The wood is substantial and works wonderfully with the colors on the print. Eventually it will go up on the wall of my craft room/office but for now it’s right next to my laptop where i can see it as I get through my day. Can’t wait for the rest of the series to be available.

Artist's Description

In 2010 I flew to Seattle to help my son Joe drive a moving van back to southern California the next day. I had the morning to take some pictures while Joe finished his last day at work. I took about 300 pictures, many with my camera-zoom out to 75x and sometimes further. Only when I got home and processed the pictures did I realize that this is where several of the boats from the TV show "Deadliest Catch" are docked in the off season. I was very fortunate to get this shot of the Northwestern. Close by was the Wizard.

About Bill Hudson

Bill Hudson comes from a family of watermen who worked the Chesapeake and Chincoteague Bays in Virginia. His inherited love of the sea is evident in his watercolors. Having an aptitude for art as well as science and mathematics, Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He then pursued a 38-year career in aerospace while painting with oils and watercolors as a hobby. His proudest moments came, however, when he married his wife Ellie and they were blessed with eight children. Now retired and with the children grown, Bill is enjoying a second career as a maritime artist. For me there has always been that attraction to the shore. It is a world different from the...
