It's said St. Steven was the first martyr of Christianity. On your painting I see a man carrying a woman on his back. Maybe he is bringing her to a place to get healed. Wonderful colours, almost duotone.

About the "figures:" quite often, sometimes intentionally to add an aspect; often I think hardly imaginable as a little more or less private joke. See my final SYMPLE GRACE, where I intended on to be obvious and entice viewers' curiosities to search for more, demonstrating something about delicate and beautiful objects, say a purse, CAN be made from beastly things. Meanwhile, I really appreciate what you see because few have mentioned it, if they do. But most of all, I appreciate your defining and exemplifying the word, pareidolia, for others than my, I suspect.

Do you intentionally set up this pareidolia - "The term pareidolia (pronounced /pæraɪˈdoʊliə/) describes a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant.
