Description
This painting represents the Monochord that was used by Pit�ras near the year 550 A.C. It means a sequence literally; that is to say, that a single cord stretches on a box of sounds. In century XVI, Robert Fludd, devised a Monochord that called Celestial or Divine, where represented the Universe of Claudius Tolomeo, adapted at the musical intervals. It is used to illustrate the mathematical characteristics of the musical tone.
