Artist's Description

No prince was able to fulfill the Swayamwars condition. Finally, a youth from the ranks of the Brahmins stepped forward. It was none other than Arjun in Brahmin guise. He politely asked for permission to try his hand with the bow, which was granted by Dhrishtadyumna. He then picked up the mighty bow with ease and strung it without much effort. Arjun then concentrated all his physical and mental energies on the target looking at its reflection in the water. The next instant, the arrow flew upwards from his bow and lo and behold! It was a perfect hit! The eye of the fish above the rotating wheel was pierced. The hall resounded to deafening cheers from Kampilyas citizens. Draupadi, blushing repeatedly, garlanded him.

About Parag Pendharkar

Parag Pendharkar

Welcome to my Art gallery! I paint the way, I feel; I am gifted to feel differently, every time. There may seem no common style in my paintings. I continue my scribbles with paints on Canvas/ Paper or Digital media. I have no formal education in art. I do not claim to possess the finese and the originality of a good painter. It was initiated through constant mockery, about my inability to "Draw", at school and later as a Mechanical Draftsman. I recollect recieving most of the punishments due to my handicap. Something snapped and I rebelled; with a burning desire to prove them wrong. At the age of 20, I displayed my first oil on canvas in a gallery and won a prize for "Velazquez's Venus". Note: Few older paintings...
