My mate Ger, over at the ARTBANK Bunclody (Ireland) was chatting to me about the subjects that I had chosen to paint since receiving the Wacom Cintique and I rambled on lyrical about how each painting was personal to me in some nostalgic way, or other, So she says, "Do you remember the car by Citroen called the Princess?"
Well, no. At the time I didn't. So I looked it up on the interweb and immediately pegged the car as Mrs Slowcom's. She has a green metallic one back in 1976, which was pretty for its time. I recall the patter banging on about headlights that turned into corners and adjustable suspension, etc. Mrs Slowcom was ace: she was a lollypop lady, good friend's mum, and visited me in hospital when I had my appendix out. So although the car may not have connected with me directly, the lady I remembered driving one certainly did. So I agreed to paint it for Ger.
