Bag is gorgeous - especially love this picture of the bear. Almost wish the bag wasn't so stark white though - it may get dirty faster. If I could have changed the bag color, I wasn't aware of it. Love the bag & ordered the card that matched!!

I am very happy with my bag and take it with me when I go shopping. It holds a number of articles and attracts attention because of the dogs' photo on both sides.

Gorgeous art on a practical bag. Thank you, my talented friend, for helping me add a bit of magic to the everyday! Just the grownup upgrade I needed from hauling my stuff around in my boring grocery tote bags.

Artist's Description

This photo of the famous cabin of Fannie Quigley was taken by my husband, David during our trip into Denali National Park. This original cabin is way up in the park at Kantishna. Alaska. Fannie arrived in Alaska in 1906 and stayed until her death. Although she had never shot an animal before she arrived in Kantishna, her prowess as a hunter became known throughout the Territory of Alaska. She learned to trap fox, wolves, wolverine and lynx and hunted bear, sheep, moose and caribou. She grew wonderful gardens of vegetables and flowers and become very well known for her cooking. Her pie crusts were famously flaky. She made them from rendered bear lard. Fannie was born in 1879 in Nebraska and her mother died when she was 6 years old. Her father remarried. The family had many hardships in Nebraska that seemed to remarkably prepare her for her adult life ahead. She was 16 years old when she set out on her own, working her way west along the railroad, until at the age of 27, she fo...

About Kathy White

I have always loved to take pictures. My first job, at age 16, was receptionist for our local newspaper, but the owners soon included me in taking photos, darkroom and writing articles. Years later, a terrible event in my personal life brought back a love of taking photos that I had not been pursuing to any great extent. My only child passed away at the age of 22. He was such a wonderful guy and I feel blessed that God chose me to be his mom. Reeling from his death, I sought some sort of diversion, needing to get my mind focused on anything besides my great loss. After a bad fall that resulted in surgery, I was recuperating at home and stir crazy. My husband took me out for drives in the country. We bought a new digital camera...
