Thank you Bruce, for your nice comment. The pears are only famous....to me. I started to refer to them as famous and the title stayed. The two pears close to each other are mother and daughter [at least, that's the way I interpreted it when I stood back and "read" my subconscious] :-) I do enjoy painting on wood: it's sturdier than canvas and I can press without worry. I only applied gesso to the wood to prep for painting; no paper. And it also was a leftover piece I had in the garage...

Are only two --the lovers-- famous? I'd be the one left out! Again you have a nifty title, and description. Yes I DO see the difference in the 3, but I hadn't thought about it till you told me. Egg (from road chicken) on my face. It'll teach me to study all more carefully, especially your crafty ones! And on wood. The back ground is so well done, gradated. What's the wood like? The paper on it? I've done 3 on just plane pine left from bookcase shelves. No special effects.

I carved 3 Kokopelli figures and one sunburst onto a 36" wide board, next, I needed to paint them. Sadly, I'm from Atlanta, so, I don't know the SW pallet of colors. That's why I bought your painting - to glean inspiration. Your pallet has helped enormously. Of course, I didn't slavishly copy your mixtures; instead, I created my own. However, it must be stated that yours opened my eyes to some exciting choices. I'm nearly done painting the 3-D figures. When I'm finished, I'll send you a photo if you are really interested.

Love this art work. It is the Center piece of my living room. We are a fly fishing family and this couldn’t have been better.

Just love it. I get a smile on my face when ever I see it. Such a fantastic artwork. Bobby Zeik has a great sense of humor, color, texture. The perfect combination of an iconic image and artistic expression. The posters came very quickly nicely rolled in a tube. The paper quality is excellent.

I am the author of "Frank K. Hain and the Manhattan Railway, the Elevated Railway (1875-1903)," published by McFarland & Co., 2011. My book has many elevated train photos, but not this particular one I purchased your art because it mirrored the ones in my book and is posting size. It now hangs on a wall in my office. The art work is excellent and the photo paper is very high quality. It is a top notch product and I am proud to have it on my wall.

Artist's Description

I am particularly attached to this piece: each pear seems to show its own personality and attitude....can you see it? Professionally framed in a blue metal frame. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany the painting.

About Marina Owens

Marina Owens

I am an Italian artist and (amateur) photographer now living in Virginia. Creating art is an opportunity for me to explore my own reactions to the subjects I choose to portray or capture. Subjects range from ordinary items of our everyday life, to creations of my fantasy or stored images from the past. I love to explore and experiment with my art. I don t like to feel restricted within a single style, medium, or theme. The common factor in all my works is the use of intense and brilliant color.
