Hi Pauline, I am so impressed...you are good at everything. Thank you for looking at my calligraphy (I'm still trying to figure out how to do thing here - that's why I'm so slow. I finally decided to concentrate on calligraphy because after college I realized I couldn't really do anything well. You are a regular Renaissance Gal - very cool.

You have many wonderful paintings, Pauline ! But this one speaks to me the most. The colors are evocative of a distant place and time; the shopkeeper seems as a person who, though humble, is fiercely proud of his offerings.

Thankyou all for the compliments. I actually painted the Fruitman right after 9/11. I needed to feel something comforting and yes go back to a time in my mind where such terrorifying acts did not happen unless it was by nature. My healing painting. : )

I really like the detail in this one Pauline. Very nice colors as well. Reminds me of the old General Stores that used to be around when I was a kid. Loads of fruit, flour and sugar bags everywhere and my favorite part was the candy window.. Our local store used to have two candies for a penny and every Saturday, we'd ride our bikes to the General store and we'd fill up a little bag of candies for 25 cents (our big allowance back then) hehe.. Very nice painting!
