I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loved it. The tuxedo cat painting was beautifully done. The blue and purple background was perfect to showcase the artist rendering of the cat.

Great gift for my beach going family member who liked my Cape Cod oil painting. Color is terrific !
There has to be a reason for me to get up at five in the morning... A very good one! I like and I treasure my sleeping time! I'm not a morning person, even though I must confess that if I do wake up early, I feel quite well and energetic (but, of course, that won't last all day!). Anyway, let me get back on track... I did wake up at five in the morning, and the reason why I did was this picture. I had to be there in the right time so that I could capture this delicate atmosphere. I was not looking for a sunrise. What I wanted was the right light to better convey that fleeting moment between night and day. I wanted the foreground still shrouded in darkness and the sea to be the most magical element in the scene. And even though it only lasts for a few minutes, I got what I wanted. Despite that, there's a final note: looking now at this picture, I already see another, hidden within this framing! And so... Let the planning begin!
I was born in 1976, in Portugal. Grew up in a small town in the countryside and later, at the age of 18, moved on to the big city. It was a difficult transition at the beginning, but in time I learned to love and enjoy the beauty of both. But, truth be told, I still favor nature over concrete! Thankfully, in either case, the marine coast has always been a short drive away! I'm not saying I like the beach - because I don't! - but I love the seascapes! I'm happily married and father of one gorgeous boy! I fell in love with TV and movies very early on in my life. Not surprisingly, that dictated my future: I'm a TV producer, journalist and film critic! I've produced several TV shows and I've written movie reviews for several newspapers and...

LOL...I am like you, Marco, and I almost never would choose to get up so early! In fact, I'm a bit ashamed to say that I've never even gotten up early for the purpose of catching a sunrise! I keep telling myself that I will do it one of these days....:) Anyway...Yes, you got what you wanted here...and it is gorgeous...I love that soft light and the gentle pink and purple in the sky that lasts so briefly...I love, too, the silkiness of the water and the lights across the bay that have not yet been extinguished. I'd say getting up so early was worth it!!! :)))fv
Marco Oliveira replied:
Thank you so much, Laurie!
