My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Thank you Mary Flore

This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

Artist's Description
This chalk pastel is from a series of illustrations I recently did for a children's book I wrote and illustrated, entitled Alex's Amazing Kingdom Adventure. This illustration appears inside the book. The little lamb, named "Faith" suddenly sees the Great Shepherd and scampers to meet Him. Faith is quickly lifted up into the Great Shepherd's arms in a loving embrace. The story & illustrations are based on Isaiah 11:6 in the Bible and are intended to portray the promised coming Kingdom of God.
About Gale Smith
Art has always been one of my great life passions... Since I was a child, I have enjoyed drawing and painting. My passion for art motivated me to pursue formal art training in college where I discovered another passion: watercolors. After graduating with a BA in Fine Art, I spent several years working as a graphic designer where I learned to combine fine arts with graphic design in a wide range of projects including logos, brochures, newspapers, book covers and even large-scale murals. Through the years I’ve experimented with a variety of mediums and I enjoyed them all. More recently, I began working with chalk pastels. I enjoy and appreciate the medium’s flexibility, and the quick results it can produce. Over the years,...

Thanks, Debby! The following passages really describe what I was wanting to convey in this picture: "He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young." Isaiah 40:11(NLT) and "For each day He carries us in His arms." Psalm 68:19 (NLT) My heart's desire is for those who view this picture will understand and know the Lord's great love for them and they will always be safe in His arms.
