JITNY unloading vacationer cars here once ferried US Army troops and armored vehicles to beaches under assault in WW11. My USN duty some 25 years later was aboard LST 1126( Landing Ship Tank) transporting Marines to training exercises in peacetime Pacific. McCalls New Yorker cover hangs above my ship's plaque.

Steam engine locomotives have been a favorite since childhood in the '40s. "Train Race" hangs below a photo of a family member from the '20s in his conductor attire.

Harbinger "A person or thing that announces the approach of another."
It won't be long before I'll take the dogs out in the evening and hear the high pitched chirps of my little amphibian friends, calling to each other in the darkness and telling me that spring is near. Surprisingly, as early as February I hear their nocturnal love songs ... they always bring a smile.
Image taken with Nikon D300 and 60mm Nikon Macro/Micro lens July, 2009.
"The Harbinger" won Second Place in the Fine Art America contest "Portrait Frogs" September 28, 2014.
About Lois Bryan

Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a glitch in our system. The images in...
