This was one of those memorable days all photographers hope for. I felt like God was rewarding me for getting out of bed.

Flying into Colorado, there was a sick woman on my left and a guy behind me hacking his brains out just behind me and within 24 hours I was sick. But we were only in Telluride for a week, so I couldn't and wouldn't squander my time here. I couldn't breathe well, because or Asthma and I was coughing a lot at 9,000 to 12,000 feet. I just wanted to sleep. I dragged myself out of bed for the sunset I hoped would be over Mount Wilson. It didn't look promising. It had been stormy and socked in all day. I got to the overlook. There was one other photographer there and me. We waited, waited, waited and suddenly the heavens opened and what a view it was. The light was unbelievable, the clouds stunning and the Aspens were at their prime. I couldn't believe my good fortune. Here is the result! Just as we were leaving the heavens opened up and I was drenched before I got back to the car.
