No one knows the distance of the journey, and really, no one knows its true origin or for that matter its true ending. And we the travelers have no idea where we are heading.
But from the time we are new born infants, expectations are placed upon us to say our first words, take our first steps.
As children, we rush headlong into the future, anxiously, impatiently awaiting the next milestone to be achieved as we journey through life.
From this earliest beginning we advance to other accomplishments. Riding a bike without training wheels, swimming without preservers, jumping off a high dive. And all the while, eagerly, learning, how to.
Those early days of our youth are filled with wonder and joy, but along the way some of it is lost, until one day we find ourselves, out of puberty and have become adults with responsibilities, nearing that time when there is more behind us than before us. And wistfully, we wish to go back, and enjoy the journey just a little bit longer.
