Description
If one would be in doubt as to the propriety of using the holy alphabet as a basis for artworks with the challenge that the essential aspect of the letter is certainly for reading and not for seeing as objects in themselves; I answer (firstly see what is written in my picture from Likutey Moharan 4:9(?), and my picture from Nedarim 38, and secondly) behold in the Shaimos Hakadoshim according to the cavanot of the Ari HaKadosh, there is nekudos of the shamos for example where all four otiot of Shem Havaya, b”h, are with a tzaireh, or a patach, etc. and there is no possible way whatsoever to read these shamos with such vowels; likewise sometimes there are two sets of vowels on each ot, etc. thus it is clear, that even thought these shaimos are in the order of tefilla which is spoken, nevertheless they cannot be spoken, rather only visualized in the Jew's mind, enclothed in his thought through his mind's eye and concentrated upon, which is called cavona, and yichudim; thus the principle aspect, in fact the only aspects of the letters in these cases is for seeing and thinking, and not for reading, as it were, or speaking. In general, it seems possible to say that the read and spoken aspect of the letters pertains to the ruach whereas the visual aspect of the letters pertains to the thought, which is the higher realm of the neshama; this perhaps corresponds to what I have brought elsewhere that vision pertains to the sphera hachmah, whereas hearing to bina. This requires further study.
