Grape Hyacinth
Common Grape Hyacinth : Muscari botryoides
Family : Lily
Genus: Muscari (fr Greek word for "musk") ... because some species have a musky scent
You will find these little plants most commonly in the woods.
The bulb is poisonous, but the American species Muscari comosum (and some others) have their flowers used as a dieuretic and stimulant. The flowers also have a sweet nectar which bees like.

Ah yes, we artist may try and try, but we can never match the sublime beauty and colors of nature, which you so perfectly depicted in your fabulous art-photo. :-)

Love the bluebells in spring, My mom always loved them.. thanks for sharing
Connie Handscomb replied:
Hi Jeff! thank you ... I'm guessing your mom loved more than the bluebells {maybe a passion for other florals, too .. just a hunch} ; glad you like them .. they're actually not bluebells but grape hyacinth. Both are delightful & I love them both {I do have bluebell images in my computer somewhere...}
