They have been married more than 77 years. They are intelligent and interesting with many stories to tell. They raised a family while he was in the military. In fact, he was in the Army, Air-force, the Marines, and in the Navy. He was a pilot and is a veteran of World War II. She was an artist, who was one of the original founders of the Foosaner Art Museum in Eau Gallie, Florida. They both had numerous college degrees. I could go on at length about all their numerous accomplishments and successes, however, I hoped to express my feeling about them as our friends.

We enjoyed getting together for dinner and various social functions these past few years at least once a week, often more, This colorful couple is always caring and generous. They have a wide circle of friends.

They have been living near us in Florida for more than 30 years. As they have aged, they have dealt with a variety of health issues. With the Novel Corona Virus pandemic upon us, everyday life was getting more difficult. She has become mostly blind and he has almost no hearing. They lean on each other as they have for most of their lives.

As it has become more difficult for them to easily take care of each other, they decided to move in with their daughter, grand-daughter, grand-daughter's husband, and great grandchildren. Both their grand-daughter and her husband are doctors. It seems like the perfect situation for all of them. We drove them up to the North Carolina mountains to start their new life a few months ago.

The last time that we saw them, they were walking away towards their new room. It gave me the idea to do this painting. Together they are walking into their future. It is not necessarily the sunset of their lives. It could be the dawning of the new chapter of their lives.
