John Silver B.A. GAC.
Born 1959 in Macclesfield Cheshire. United Kingdom.�
John began drawing and painting at the age of 5 and he knew from that early age, that all he wanted to be was an artist!
John is self taught and has spent most of his life studying the techniques and knowledge of the Old Masters in great detail. He is one of the very few artists who still use these 500 year old techniques, which sometimes includes making his own oil paints and mediums.
His major influences being Rembrant, Da Vinci, Titian, Caravagio, Vermeer, Poussin and many others.�

John Silver is considered to be one of the UK�s leading contemporary Canine, Equestrian, Figurative and Erotic artists, working predominantly in Oils.� His paintings are in many private collections Worldwide, including many celebrities and British Royalty.
Many of his works being produced as both Limited Edition and Open Edition prints by some of the leading art publishers.
He is also the only living artist to have work permanently hanging in the prestigious gallery of the Kennel Club in London UK. Making him one of only a few artists alive today who are already in the history books!

John has an enviable ability to capture the female form in all its beauty, eroticism and sensuality. Favouring two styles of detailed realism and his other more loose contemporary art style.
More recently John has been exploring the use of light and shade within erotic art, where he is fascinated by the subtle areas of the female form emerging almost magically from the shadowy background.
