This is a depiction of the moa exhibit, which is now sadly extinct, in Canterbury Museum in Christchurch. The moa was a flightless bird endemic to New Zealand. The moa was believed to be made extinct by the hunting of them by the Maori.
I love working in New Zealand as there is always something new to excite me. I learned the hard way with film B/W, colour negatives and slides and now love the freedom that digital cameras can give you. As I am often several months behind when I start working on my pictures I am often surprised and excited at what I find. Each individual has to be adapted depending on the subject; sometimes they are nearly untouched and others have hours of creative changes to get them looking perfect.
