Artist's Description
This is a view of the North Bay as seen from the top of Mount Harriett. Mount Harriett is the tallest peak of Port Blair and if the weather is fine, one can have an unobstructed view of the Hugh Ross, Neil and Havelock Islands which are about two hours further east. North Bay is famous for recreational and watersports activities like snorkelling, scuba-diving, sea-walk etc. On this particular day, the weather was beautiful and one could see for miles all around. It was a sunny day and the sea appeared as blue as it could be. The Lighthouse on the left, painted in red and white stripes is the North Bay Lighthouse and the part of the island that is visible in the middle, to the right of the photograph, is the Ross Island, once the capital of the English regime in the Andamans. And yes, do not forget to locate the helicopter gliding just above the clouds in the top central part of the image.
