Well done! FAVORITE for this gem

Yep--I know I am headed down the road ( once again) like this ole man.

Nigel Follett replied:

Entropy is a SOB. I'm not going gracefully, I know that! :-)

You and me both Reynold! :-) Thank you for your kind comments. We're just moving to a place with a bigger garden as well, so going for a 'wildflower look' to keep the work down!

Oh, ho! This is where I am headed! Nigel! Always well done! Lovely as can be! FAV

Wow, that's great! Thank you Joan!

FEATURED on FAA Group; 'Images That Excite You'.. Thank you!

This pretty much describes stuff I do out in the yard, Nigel. Beautiful and lovely as can be. FAV

Nigel Follett replied:

Hi Reynold! Thank you so much my friend. This is a scene from the garden of a stately home near where I used to live. As I know you love history you may find this interesting. http://westgreenhouse.co.uk/

This can never get enough attention

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you Joe. :-)

I love him just as he is ... I love who he use to be ... What is important is that he still going, still growing into whom he will become ... Still growing his garden, his hopes and dreams ... He has not given up and quit, that's what's important ... He is going to finish his race, and if he has been on the right path, he will have a home in Heaven when that time comes . . . F/L

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you Judith. He is an amazing guy - doing what he clearly still loves.

Fantastic work.... I love it......

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you very much Iris. Not quite a self-portrait (yet!).

I really appreciate your talent in painting this Old Country Gardener, Nigel! I grew up in England and my grandparents raised me pretty much, and this gardener so reminds me of my grandfather who was a great gardener. Thanks for creating such a wonderful memory for me! L/F

Nigel Follett replied:

I'm thrilled that you like this painting Hazel - it doesn't always get noticed because I suppose it is very gentle compared with many of my works. The old gentleman is working at RHS Wisley in Surrey; beautiful gardens there.

Your art goes deeper than most

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you again. I'm often trying to convey messages with my paintings and once an idea takes a hold it really takes me over until it is painted. Means a huge amount that you said this by the way.

If you have ever gotten old, if you have ever had questions about life or been fascinated by the intricacies of even a blade of grass, then this wheel barrow and this bent man will bring you comfort--and this artist will re-affirm the wonder of imagination as well as offer a connection of a mysterious sort.

Nigel Follett replied:

Wow! I'm speechless at such a thoughtful comment Joe. Thank you so much!

Thank you for featuring my painting of 'The Old Gardener' on 'Appreciating Works From All Mediums'.

Thank you for featuring this in 'Digital Realism'.

Thank you Lisa. It is actually a digital painting, all done free-hand on a Wacom tablet over many hours. There is no photograph in it, or forming any part of it and it wasn't traced or carried out using an over-paint. I hope that it still counts for your competition. :-)

Thank you for participating in my contest. What a great capture. So sweet. L

That's a really nice comment, thank you. It was originally painted for a friend who loves a huge horticultural centre and arboretum owned by our RHS. She is happy for me to show and sell it and I did enjoy painting, and even more hearing her reaction to it - she knew exactly who/where it was..

This is in my home spot. Us old farts like to piddle in the garden where we contemplate and make things grow--it is our daddy instincts that have not completely dried up. Your sensitive side is as good as your imagination.

Thank you for featuring this Anne. It took a long time to paint this - the jeans and the tee shirt resulted in quite a few headaches from staring at it so much!
