Trees still show their bare branches a month before bud-break in early Spring. Their bark gives them an overall dark look in the sunlight, but the old leaning tree that no longer has any bark is surprisingly light in color which makes it stand out from all the other trees nearby. Many branches have fallen away and all the bark is gone making the dead tree look quite bare.
I liked the contrast of the dark trees against the light blue sky. The sunlight coming from the east in the late morning highlighted the light colors of the old leaning tree in late winter.
