Congratulations, your work is featured on the homepage of "Created by my Pencil Power!

Barbara Chase replied:

Thank you, David!

Did you really see them there reading ? Usually these guys are playing soccer or football :)))) but..if you saw them reading i defenitely believe you ! Lol.....

Barbara Chase replied:

Truly I did, Michel!😊 Three men walked into an underground Starbuck's in old town Annapolos, Maryland. (Sounds like a prelude to a joke but it's a fact). They settled directly in my line of vision; two in leather club chairs and one in the deep window bay with his back against the old stone wall. (There's a Naval Academy a short walk from this Starbuck's which helps to explain their buff appearance). In prohibition days this particular Starbuck's was an old "speakeasy." Musicians and imbibers alike gathered clandestinely to drink and to party. There's even an underground tunnel that leads directly to the government State House)...😉 But I digress. When I sketched the men I did take the liberty of changing their hair color -- so as to maintain their anonymity! lol

Nice artwork! Liked.

Barbara Chase replied:

Thanks, Jeff!

Congratulations your creative and unique art work is featured in the "Out Of The Ordinary" group! Barbara, I was named after the Lyric Opera my aunt was an opera singer! :)

Barbara Chase replied:

Thank you, Lyric! And thank you also for the interesting background on your name. A good name should always be "music to the ears." 😊

Congratulations your creative art is featured in the MINIMALISM 1a day group!

Barbara Chase replied:

Thank you, Lyric! (The name "Lyric" conjurs a picture a very musically-talented young couple anticipating the arrival of a equally-musically-talented baby.....)?

The fact that you say handsome in your description, leaves me thinking there must be some "mighty fine" library's where you live Barbara! (nudge nudge wink wink!)

Barbara Chase replied:

Ha! Yes, Chris...mighty fine!!! There's also that philosophy that we tend to find that which we look for..... (😉)

Hey, it's the kind of handsome guys we want to meet -

Barbara Chase replied:

Yes, with intellectual and interesting minds...creative capabilities...curious and candid...intelligent and independent...endlessly fascinating...and easy on the eye (so as to prevent eye-strain😉)!

I received a dull black Duvet. I have been trying to get a response from Fine Art America for a replacement. of a midnight black Duvet. The on I received looked as if it had been washed with bleach. Please call (314) 740-6405., I ave been told that the machinary used by some company timberland was not working. This was for my daughters dorm. I sent her address so that they could send out a replacement back on August 21st. She has not received it yet.

Many years ago, my uncle Thomas (Tom) Phillip Hufford asked me to come up with a word the opposite of predator. Amitor is that word. Ami: Fr. friend, Amigo: Sp. friend, Amity: Eng. harmony, Ami: Formosa, Taiwan. Giraffe: non predatory animal unless young attacked. Butterflies: live, love, laugh, hope. Survive, thrive and inspire others. Pen Sherwood offered to do this Amtor artwork for free sharing the copyright with me for my Amitor concept. Amitor Tom would be so proud. Diana Hays Kisselburg

Artist's Description

Three handsome young men -- blonde, dark-haired, and redhead -- sit quietly in a reading room...each reading his book, journal, or newspaper.

About Barbara Chase

Facebook page: BARBARA CHASE ART GALLERY As a nearsighted kid hiding behind thick glasses, I spent hundreds of hours dreaming of faraway places--fingers glued to a paintbrush and mind focused on the fascinating things people said and did. I angled around the rigors of geometry while finding humor in isosceles triangles--as evidenced in one of my paintings in my AMUSINGS gallery; incongruity and personification share equal space with cadmium red inside my toolbox. An inverted tripod, a lightbox, and a macro lens served as sidekicks for my ILLUMINATIONS series--a 100-piece "magnum opus" of translucent light and color--and my continuing nod to celluloid film. AMUSINGS ~ is a gathering of eclectic characters who have hung...
