Robert Frost was born in 1874 and died in 1963. From 1900 to 1911 he and his wife Elinor lived there. It was at this time that most of his first 2 1/2 poetry books were written. The farm had at the time 30 acres. He and Elinor would take long walks in the woods. There are many paths you can walk during a visit here or just sit under this old maple. I like to think he had an old wooden bench under this orange maple, looking out at the fall colors.
