Oostende (BE) is from origin a fisherman's town (even a buckaneers' village in its earliest days). Over time it has evolved to a touristic coastal beach, bath and shopping city. Nowadays, fishing industry is almost "extinguished". Many inhabitants struggle with that duality of losing an identity while they understand that the new role is essential to offer people a decent income and living.
