Moment of inner story delivery... very confident look just as the moment of shutter that took a place !

Your additional comment shows up in my Activity Stream Page but not when I go to your image. Your comment~Michel Verhoef: "Speaking of Bresson....my best shot would be another one for sure...the decisive moment is really much more a fraction than this one...to me....just think of my image: if you were mine....in that one...everything falls together in a split..." Well Janet feels this image "The Singer II" is one of your best. If your other photos taken during the concert did not come out the way you wanted, this photo came out great in my opinion!!

You are most welcome Michel! But to quote widely regarded photographer, Henri Cartier-Bresson, "To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition in a fraction of a second of the significance of an event." "And your first 10,000 photographs are your worst." I prefer to hone in on what was a successful capture for you despite the others not turning out. So this is your 10,001, A BEST, captured in that fraction of a second. Well done!

Michel!!! What an absolutely fabulous portraiture of beauty! I love the way you captured her in a three-quarter pose, the fuller part of her hair on the dominant side of the pose, and capturing her demure likeness or mood! Beautifully shaped eyebrows outlining the face, and accentuating her slightly closed eyes. You have truly brought out the best in Jan Akkerman's lovely, daughter!! This is one of your best and showcases your talent!! LV/FV
Michel Verhoef replied:
Thanks a lot...unfortunately the images of Jan himself didn't work out since he had his cap drawn almost over his eyes...so no lights didn't reach his eyes under there...but...his playing was still superb virtuoso...like a real American Jazzman...lol...(credits to your culture in that respect !!)

Outstanding B&W portrait, Michel. Love your use of negative space to her right, her contemplative expression, the hint of light on her hair, and Strong contrast. Plus the fact that she is a very beautiful woman! Outstanding work, Michel!.....fav / like
Michel Verhoef replied:
Ha...I couldn't help her looks :)) she is the daughter of our famous guitarist called Jan Akkerman (who had been a member of the band called Focus). At his 70th birthday she was also allowed to sing :-)

A very striking portrait, Michel ; the Light highlights her features beautifully ... love the PoV , adds enormous drama :)) {I had to go away again for a while, Michel; hope you've been keeping well}
Michel Verhoef replied:
I had to delete my reply due to that terrible spelling when writing on the mobile...I should have done on the iPad...sorry again...glad you are back Connie ! :)

Very beautiful Michel, I like how her hair floats along the flow of feelings. Well done!

Stunning Portrait - love how her expression is so still - in contrast to her hair wisping out wildly in light behind her...
Michel Verhoef replied:
I think she must have used a powerful hair conditioner...lol...you being a lady should know how these things are....:)))
